At Anchor of Hope we are driven by a powerful calling: to share the transformative love of Jesus Christ through the preaching of the good news and provision of physical assistance to those in need.
An Unreached Place Transformed for Christ
My original name is Yeshayya. I was born and brought up in a village called Vadalakunta to parents Daniel and Vijaya in a family of seven. I was born again in 1990. My parents happened to be Christians in a nation where that is not always common. My father was even a preacher. So, I was born as a “Christian” in name but was not a born-again Christian.
During my schooling, I did believe that Jesus was the only God who lives in heaven, but I felt like He was far from me, like He never saw or spoke to me. I attended the church to satisfy my parents. But one day when I was in church listening to God’s word, He brought to my attention Isaiah 43:1. Then that Scripture passage touched my soul, specifically the words, “I have called you by your name,” and “You are mine.”
Ever since that day, I have belonged to Jesus Christ, and I seek to make His Name known to everyone I can. Eventually, God called me into full-time ministry spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, and it has been an incredible honor. Since that time, many churches have been planted among the unreached, and God has entrusted me with the shaping of multiple pastors leading multiple congregations.
As the church has grown, we have encountered many needs in the communities in which we serve, and so this nonprofit helps serve to both advance the gospel and help those in greatest need through tangible assistance.
—Isaiah Kakinati, President & Founder, Anchor of Hope Evangelistic Ministries.
Life took an unexpected but wonderful turn in 1996 when I married Madhuri Latha Racharla. Yet, despite our initial hopes, we faced challenges in starting a family for several years.
Through a year of dedicated prayer, we sought God’s guidance. In October 2003, our prayers were answered with the arrival of our son, Jesse Danny, a precious gift we entrusted to God’s ministry. Our family grew again a few years later, and while we envisioned a daughter, God had other plans, blessing us with another son to serve His purpose. We embraced His will with open hearts.
Madhuri, inspired by my support, pursued her diploma in pharmacy after our marriage. Together, we were able to start a medical shop in 1996, combining our shared passion for serving our community. For nearly four years, we dedicated ourselves to providing essential healthcare services to our neighbors. Then we followed God into full time ministry.
"In my estimation, this ministry is absolutely dedicated to faithful stewardship, making every dollar go as far as it can for Christ! When I donated to Anchor of Hope, I had no idea just how much they could do with so little. And they don't just want to help people for the short term. Instead, they work towards sustainable change to break the cycles of poverty and hopelessness afflicting so many in India."
